My Favorite Quotes

"Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to rank with those poor souls who neither enjoy much or suffer much because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat."

"You may be only one person in the world, but you may also be the world to one person."

"Blessed are the flexible for they won't be bent out of shape."

"Run against the wind, swim against the tide, build endurance in your life."

"A life without love in it is like a heap of ashes upon a deserted hearth--with the fire dead, the laughter stilled, and the light extinguished."

"Go confidently in the directions of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined."

"Today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday, and all is well."

"Be true to yourself and follow your own beliefs."

"Fault is thick where love is thin."

"He who controls others is powerful but he who has mastered himself is mightier still."

"Shoot for the moon and even if you miss you'll still end up among the stars."

"Courage is simply the willingness to be afraid and act anyway."

"Love is very patient and kind, never jealous, envioius, never boastful or proud, never haughty or selfish or rude. Love does not demand its own way. It is not irritable or touchy. It does not hold grudges and will hardly even notice when others do it wrong. It is never glad about injustice, but rejoices in the truth whenever truth wins out. If you love someone you will be loyal to him no matter what the cost. You will always believe in him, always expect the best of him, and always stand your ground in defending him."

Bored Outta My Mind

I know one thing....if the sun doesn't start shining and spring doesn't hurry up and get here I am going to be insane. In my opinion this is the worse time of year. The gloomy, dreary days take their toll on me. Well, so far today I have accomplished laundry, dinner, coloring my hair, taking the dogs out, and taking my daughter to work. Woooo hoooo. Hey folks...it just doesn't get anymore exciting than that now does it? Same thing, day in day out. I do believe I have gotten myself into a rut this winter.

Oh Where oh where do I begin?

Morgan with the dreaded Baxter Posted by Hello
I think I'll begin by telling you that Baxter was the size of you're palm the day we brought him home. Just adorable. Black and white fuzzy little thing as helpless as could be. Everyone loved him. He was faster than the speed of light the way he ran around the house and his little pink tongue curled up on the end when he panted. Very cute. Then he started getting older and uglier....and uglier...and uglier. His once black fur turned a dirty gray, mixed with....get this....some freaking strange shade of Apricot. His eyes watered all the time and he used to rub them on everything. I'm getting ill reminiscing about the little sh**. Anyway, to make a long story short, Baxter had to move outta the house due to his bathroom habits. I didn't like him enough to teach him right from wrong. Lord, I apologize. Everyone still misses him except for Ron and I. Look at Morgie....holding him so sweetly. He looks cute there, but man, the matted fur that thing would used to get. I would give him haircuts that looked like he had been run over with a lawn mower...not good at doggie cuts....he had all these little knicks all over him...it was pathetic. No, Baxter was not our kind of dog. I don't think he had a brain.

It's a Beautiful Day in the Neigborhood

Derek and Spencer at Pebble Beach Posted by Hello
Hey guys, where's your golf clubs???? No one would ever notice you didn't belong on the course at Pebble Beach dressed like that....you could've walked right on and started golfing...flipflops and all. You would probably do better than that guy behind you....Haha....He looks like he's looking into the ocean for his ball. Poor thing. Anyway...you boys look good standing there. I'd say you look like naturals. Few more years you'll be on TV travelin the globe and makin the big bucks. Don't forget about your Momma.

LAAA TEEE DAAA

Shannon...aka...Britney Spears in San Francisco Posted by Hello
Oh Shannon just thought she was the cat's pajama's the day she bought this hat and jacket in San Francisco. Didn't take her long after arriving to realize she needed to update her wardrobe to something a little more Californian. This pic was taken in our hotel room....the Embassy Suites which I recommend to anyone with a family. The one in San Francisco is absolutely gorgeous complete with palm trees and waterfalls in the lobby. We spent two or three days in Frisco watching sea lions and doing lots of shopping at Fisherman's Wharf, and we took the bay cruise over to Alcatraz. That was some tour. Very eerie and lifelike. I loved all the street performers and the horse and carriages are so cool. So much excitement in Frisco...beautiful skyline, the Golden Gate Bridge, and Sausilito....which we didn't get to visit the time around but I will go back there someday. Anyway Shannon....you look very cool in those digs!

Pebble Beach California

Pebble Beach is one of my favorite places in California. Not because I'm an avid golfer, it's because the place exudes richness. And anyone that knows me knows that I am a people watcher and that is one great place to watch people. I sit back and watch the folks that come there that actually get to play golf there.....only a week's salary or something like that for a day of golfing. Only in my dreams can I live the life those people live. Looking out at the ocean everyday and enjoying a leisurely stroll on the course would certainly make me relaxed and give me a good reason to love life. Wonder if those people know how lucky they are. I know that Derek especially loved Pebble Beach. He golfs everyday in the summertime if he gets the chance. Maybe oneday you'll end up playing a tournament at Pebble Beach Derek! I will be there to watch you play. Promise.
Pebble Beach was hosting a Classic Car show later in the week and the car Derek is standing beside was on display to promote the show.

Simon the Jerk

Ron, Simon, and Lindsay on American Idol Posted by Hello
Here they are pleased as punch to get the opportunity to critique my singing while I was on stage at American Idol. Simon, being the smarta** that he is, told me that I was dreadfully awful. I never liked him anyway....and I bet he can't sing a lick. Simon, if you read this, you are an egotistical moron. Thanks to Ron and Lindsay for the support they gave me. At least they thought I was good.

Las Vegas Nevada

Ron golfing with Tiger Woods! Posted by Hello
It's not everyday that you get the chance to golf with one of the World's finest. Our trip to Vegas this past summer was pretty exciting when Ron was on the course with Tiger. Look at all the fans that showed up to watch! Yeah, right. Hey honey....where's your golfing attire?

Lovebirds

Lindsay & Jordan Posted by Hello
Haven't heard much from my Lindsay the past few months......thanks to you Jordan! I remember we used to talk for hours on end and now she is busy hanging out with her boyfriend, going to college, and working at her job which has been an eye-opening experience for her. I love to hear her stories about customers coming in to buy $13 dollar cheesecakes with food stamps and how she dropped a frozen turkey on her foot the day she was bagging groceries. OUCH! Anyway, I tried to talk to her last night on MSN and wasn't getting much of a reply from her. Later, I got an email and found out why.....she was painting her toenails. Nice to know that toenails are more important than her Momma! Don't worry Lindsay.....I understand.

Christmas Party at the Country Club

Ron and I at our Christmas Party December 4, 2004 Posted by Hello
What an evening. Everyone looked so nice....the theme was Black & White, so most of the guys had on tuxedos. The food was great and after dinner they served Baked Alaska with Cherries Jubilee. It's not too often that we get the time to go somewhere for ourselves, so we enjoyed every minute of it. Enjoyed the martini's too...a little too much! I will never eat Cherries Jubilee again. Lord, I apologize.

Gabe the Angel

Gabe the Angel Posted by Hello
Gabe, in contrast to Jack is my easy-going baby. In October, Gabe turned 11 years old, which is 77 in people years....gettin up there. He has been such a good dog through the years and one of my most memorable days with Gabe was the day he had his head out the window of the car while I was driving to work with Lindsay, Derek, and Shannon. Unfortunately, Gabe had no knowledge of power windows in a car and proceded to step on the "up" button while his head was hanging outside. Before I knew what was happening he was choking himself and I couldn't get the window to go back down because his big fat paw was on it. Needless to say, it ended up with Gabe yanking his head back inside the car and busting the window completely out of the car. It literally scared the "S***" out of him and he relieved himself on the back seat of the car. With 3 crying children and my client due to show up any minute, I managed to calm everyone down, get the glass cleaned up, clean the doo doo off the backseat of the car, and show up for work with a smile on my face......whew.......makes me tired now just thinking about it. He will always be a special dog to me because he's the dog that "grew up" with my kids. Gabe is a good ole boy.

Jack the Brat

Jack the Brat Posted by Hello
Isn't he adorable?? Looks can be deceiving ya know. Jack is 10 months old and thinks he owns the house. A dog with an attitude..........great. At 100 pounds it doesn't feel too good when he leaps up on you. He thinks he still weighs about 10 pounds. PITA is the name he inheirited at 5 months old. Ron gave him that name. It stands for "Pain In The Ass." Mainly because he's so hyper. Bad traits considered, Jack is still one of the most loveable dogs I know. Spoiled Rotten!!

New to the World of Blogs

Interesting....the word "blog". I've been looking for something like this for a long time. A place where I can express my thoughts....a place all my own. I think it will be fun writing in this journal and keeping track of daily events, my feelings, and reflections.
